Two very difficult questions that do not have simple answers. I believe we should avoid committing ground troops to such conflicts. I believe there must be clear and obtainable objectives, I believe there should be a sensible exit strategy , I believe that the military should make military decisions and not political decisions. I do not believe that the US should be the policeman for the world or NATO, instead all such military interventions should be joint decisions with our allies. I believe in defending the US if an attack is likely, but we should do everything to avoid this.
